What is Sip?It's Wine Education Made Fun in Your Home or Business!
A Little Bit About Sip...Do you enjoy wine but wish you could learn a little bit more about it in a casual setting? Are screw caps really ok on a bottle? What’s the difference between Champagne, Prosecco and Cava? What are the hot wine regions right now? What exactly does it mean when a wine is described as “mineral-driven” or “buttery”? And here’s the big question: Can you find a really good bottle of wine for less than $15? Absolutely! In fact, you can find great wines for less than $10. But in the vast expanse of a wine shop, how do you find the hidden treasures?
If your interest is piqued then please contact us at Maia@sipwineboston.com or 617.669.6934 to set up a relaxed and fun wine tasting! Owner Maia Gosselin – the editor of a wine and spirits trade magazine and industry expert – will lead your group as you sip and sample “hidden gem” wines from a variety of countries. Tasting notes will be provided as we discuss our impressions of the wines, learn about some interesting varietals and wine regions and find out what the current trends are these days. Sip is perfect for moms' groups, neighborhood get-togethers, girls night out, book clubs, birthday celebrations, wedding showers, bachelorette parties, corporate events and more! ** Virtual Zoom tasting options are available. For more information email Maia@sipwineboston.com. |
How it Works...Tasting RatesWe charge $45 per person ($50 for an all-bubbly event). Minimum guest counts vary from 14 to 25 people depending on the event. Sip also offers flat rates for larger groups. A complimentary “welcome” wine for guests to enjoy upon arrival is provided as a courtesy, prior to the tasting commencing.
Tasting Format...For Live Events We recommend having between 14-25 people but often work with larger groups of 50+. For wines, we feature 6 different styles over 1.5-2 hours, including a range of sparkling, whites, reds and rosé. Custom themes such as A Trip Through France, a Tour of Italy or Bubbly Bliss are also available. Each wine "taste" is approximately 2 ounces.
Sip provides the wines to taste, glassware, tasting notes, the fun and the education! You provide the space, appetizers and friends! Prior to your tasting we will email a list of suggestions for hors d'oeuvres and other light fare that will pair nicely with the wines being featured. |

Maia did a FABULOUS tasting for my sister's bridal shower. She didn't want a traditional shower, and this was perfect! Maia was knowledgeable, kind, funny and read the crowd perfectly! I love that we all learned something, tried many different wines that we can easily purchase if we loved (which we did) and that the night was exactly what I had hoped for, even better! I HIGHLY recommend Maia for any tasting event!"
