An Afternoon of Wine EducationWine Tastings for Senior Living & Retirement CommunitiesLooking for some engaging entertainment for your retirement community? How about an educational and laid-back wine tasting? We have done many tastings for groups ranging from independent living/retirement communities to assisted living. Owner Maia Gosselin presents about wine in a friendly and approachable manner. She engages easily with the senior community and has as much fun presenting as residents do tasting!

How it Works...Tasting FormatA retirement community tasting typically features 5 wines and takes between 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1.5 hours taking place usually prior to dinner. Owner Maia Gosselin always leaves extra time at the end to talk with guests and answer questions. Themes range from a Trip Around the World to region-specific (France, Italy, Spain, etc.).
PricingWe offer flat rate pricing for senior and retirement community events:
We bring the wine, tasting notes, maps and glassware and email a list of appetizer suggestions. Pricing for groups of 40-45. We work with larger groups as well.

"If you’re searching for an original program to shake up your events, this is the one for you! Maia is a dynamic presenter and extremely knowledgeable. The program is adjustable to your audience, whether formal or casual. I appreciated the option to choose a selection of wines according to a theme. Our selection was “Summertime Wines” and Maia presented interesting wine options from various countries. She not only educated us on the basics of the wine industry, but discussed the country of origin and the process of creating the wine. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the program due to the fact that it was informal and open to questions during the presentation. After the event, Maia spent time chatting with a few residents that were from other countries and have a great love of wine. We plan to have Maia return to our facility for another educational program and a marketing event in the near future. The event was a great success!"

"I worked for a nursing home in the Portland, ME area. When I said I wanted to have a wine tasting, people thought I was crazy. Maia, however, didn't bat an eye. She showed up for the first tasting armed with a plethora of wine glasses and numerous bottles of fantastic wines. She treated our residents to an incredibly special afternoon. When we asked her back again, word had spread amongst our residents. We ended up with three times the participants than we expected. Again, nothing ruffled Maia. She is always composed, generous and knowledgeable. My one regret is that I was never able to hire her for my own party. I cannot recommend Sip Wine Education more highly."
